Parish Communion
A Parish Communion is held weekly at St Edward’s, Corfe Castle and twice a month at St George’s, Langton Matravers and once a month at St James, Kingston and St Nicholas, Worth Matravers. The liturgy is drawn from Common Worship and follows the seasons of the church year. At St George’s and St Edwards’ the sung worship is led by the choir, with an anthem and sung responses. At St Nicholas’ and St James’ the hymns are accompanied by the organ (and other instruments as appropriate).
Breakfast Church – Family Service
The Breakfast Church service is held on the first Sunday of the month at St George’s at 9.45am. This is an informal but structured family orientated act of worship, with breakfast, conversation, newspapers, activities for children, a short address and prayer.
Walking Church
Walking Church meets at 11am at a variety of locations in the Benefice on the second and fourth Sunday of the month. Walking Church is an informal outdoor act of worship for children and adults. It involves songs, story telling, shared food and crafts. Come dressed for the weather!
Benefice Together
Whenever there is a fifth Sunday in the month, the congregations of all our churches meet together for worship, usually at Church Knowle. The Parish Communion liturgy is usually followed
Evening Worship
A Celtic style evening act of worship is held at St Nicholas, Worth Matravers on the first Sunday of the month at 5pm. This service is usually lay led.
Wednesday Communion or Prayer in the Morning
A mid-week service of Holy Communion is held at 10am at St George’s, Langton Matravers. These are said services, with a conversation based around a reading from the bible and a time of open shared prayer.
Holy Communion using the Book of Common Prayer
The liturgy of the BCP is used for our celebrations of Holy Communion at 8pm at St Nicholas, Worth.
St Aldhelm’s Chapel
Easter morning is greeted at St Aldhelm’s Chapel at 6am.
A 5pm evening service is held on Sundays throughout August.
